Gwalior district Congress President Darshan Singh suffered a massive heart attack after coming from Moti Mahal, Divisional Commissioner's Office, where Congress leaders as part of the party's 'Akrosh rally' had gone to submit a memorandum against demonetisation, Madhya Pradesh Congress General Secretary Ashok Singh said.
Gwalior Divisional Commissioner S N Roopla told PTI that as part of the Congress delegation, Singh came for submitting the memorandum, which he took in the office premises.
Roopla said Singh suffered "(heart) attack" after reaching his (Singh's) office.
He was considered close to senior Congress leader and Guna MP Jyotiraditya Scindia.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on November 8 had announced demonetisation of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 currency notes.
