Senior party leaders Dhirendra Pratap and Vijay Saraswat who visited Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi to meet NSUI leader Rohit Pandey who tried to allegedly commit suicide by immolating himself at Ramnagar in Nainital district on Tuesday, said if NSUI activists have been falsely implicated in the case immediate action be taken against the responsible official.
"If any police official is guilty of lodging a false case against NSUI activists, he should be immediately brought to book," the two Congress leaders said in a joint statement here.
Pandey was demanding the transfer of a police SHO, who according to him had lodged a false case against five Union activists for torching three bikes parked outside ABVP office at Maldhan in the district during student union polls recently.
