A local court today granted bail to Congress MLA Nirmala Devi, who was arrested at Ranchi on August 25, and 13 other accused in connection with the violence at NTPC's Pakri Barwadih coal mining project in Hazaribagh district.
Principal District and Sessions Judge Vishnukant Sahay allowed her bail with two surety bonds each of Rs 10,000.
The judge had on October 3 reserved the order after hearing bail petitions of Devi and others in connection with flouting of section 144 CrPC and a host of other IPC cases registered against them after the violence on August 14.
Her husband and former minister Yogendra Sao, who was also arrested in the case on August 21, is still in judicial custody and his bail petition is pending in the court.
