The decision was taken at a meeting of Congress Legislature Party at the party's state headquarters at Sadaquat Ashram here.
The meeting was attended by 27 newly elected Congress MLAs and four MLCs, Congress General Secretary C P Joshi told reporters.
Asked if Congress would be part of new government of Nitish Kumar, Joshi said Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi would interact with state legislators in Delhi on November 19 and take a decision whether to be a part of the government.
Joshi said the meeting also passed a resolution which urged Rahul Gandhi to be the president of the party.
Sadaquat Ashram has experienced such happiness after a long time with Congress winning 27 seats in 2015 elections in partnership with JD(U) and RJD. It had only five MLAs in the previous House.
