Addressing reporters here, BJP's Maharashtra election in-charge Om Mathur ruled out reports that his party is considering accommodating Sharad Pawar-led NCP, which also severed its alliance with Congress last week, in the NDA fold.
"These are fabricated reports created by media. There is no truth in these reports. Our national President Amit Shah had already criticised NCP," Mathur said, adding that party leadership will decide on the post-election scenarios.
When asked to respond to the statement made by Uddhav Thackeray that he was responsible for the dissolution of the alliance, the BJP leader said, "I and BJP's state unit chief (Devendra Fadnavis) have cleared our positions. Our main target during electioneering will be Congress and NCP and not Shiv Sena."
Mathur said that he had tried his level best to keep the alliance going but could not do much as Uddhav stuck to his formula wherein BJP was given lesser number of seats than it had demanded.
