At the same time, AICC said there was "no problem" about numbers in Parliament for UPA in the wake of the withdrawal of support by 19-member TMC.

"There could have been some deficiency on our part in the last three years to help others understand our policies", party spokesman Manish Tewari told reporters.

He said "any ally of UPA may have had a different point of view on any particular issue and it was for that reason only that consensus could not be arrived at but as has already been said, there is a difference between consensus and unanimity", he said.

He said the party and its government tried their best to have unanimity. "It is not appropriate to say that development has stopped due to a particular reason or particular individual", he said.

He also played down questions on the dharna being planned by Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee at the Jantar Mantar here on October 1.

"Many political parties may have idological differences. If any political party has any different view, we are ready for discussion and exchange of views", he merely said.
