Congress said that while the media knows the stand of NDA allies Shiv Sena and Akali dal on the land acquisition Bill, BJD, which is neither in NDA and nor a part of UPA, has declared that although it is not opposed to the proposed legislation, that does not mean it will vote for it.
"I don't think it is proper to comment on an individual's comments," Congress spokesperson Abhishek Singhvi said as he steered clear of reacting to Pawar's remarks.
Mounting an all-out offensive against the Modi government, Nationalist Congress Party chief Sharad Pawar on Wednesday indicated that his party was not averse to the "coming together" of outfits that were once a part of Congress.
Pawar's statement came close on the heels of the merger of the Janata Parivar outfits.
Pawar, who was interacting with reporters on the sidelines of a party function in Mumbai, however, indicated NCP had no plans for a complete merger with Congress in the near future.
