"The Congress is fully prepared to contest the coming local body elections. The party will field candidates capable of winning the polls," Katare told reporters at the Indore Press Club.
"The party will focus on BJP's working style by raising issues like corruption, MPPEB scam, power crisis, flaws in public distribution system and various other local and political issues," he said.
He alleged that the state government is part of a conspiracy to close down Madhya Pradesh's government run power generating companies so that these could be handed over to private companies to benefit them.
Katare alleged that during the summit, the state government made a lot of unnecessary expenses and cited the example of advertisements displayed at bus stands in Delhi and Bangalore.
