Congress will respond in a day or two to the letter of Aam Aadmi Party convener Arvind Kejriwal, who has set some new conditions before it can decide on forming a government in Delhi, party General Secretary Shakeel Ahmed said today.

"We will examine the letter and will get back to Kejriwal in a day or two," Ahmed told PTI soon after Congress president Sonia Gandhi forwarded him the letter written by Kejriwal to her.

Ahmed had earlier written to Kejriwal about the readiness of the Congress to support an AAP government from outside if it was prepared to form the government.

"If AAP is ready to form the government, Congress party will extend support from outside," Ahmed had told Kejriwal.

In the 70-member House, BJP is the largest party with 31 members. AAP has 28 members and Congress has eight members.

Kejriwal, who met Delhi Lt Governor Najeeb Jung earlier in the day, has set some new conditions for Congress and BJP before it can decide on forming a government.

In his letters to Congress President Sonia Gandhi and BJP President Rajnath Singh, he has sought their views on a list of 18 issues that included ending VIP culture in the capital, audit of electricity companies and removal of MLA local funds scheme.

Congress had last night extended unconditional support of its eight MLAs to AAP for forming the next government.
