Congratulatory messages pour in for Kovind from CMs, Guvs

Congratulatory messages poured in for president-elect Ram Nath Kovind from chief ministers and governors with some extending their best wishes on twitter or by calling him up.
From his home-state, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, congratulated Kovind, saying the rural people are feeling proud of him and the honour of 'dalits' has increased after a person from their section reached the top position.
He said it was a matter of pride for Uttar Pradesh that he hails from the state.
Recalling his experiences with Kovind as a fellow parliamentarian and later on as his counterpart in Bihar, UP Governor Ram Naik said he was the first person from the state to occupy the topmost constitutional post.
In her congratulatory message to the president-elect, the Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti said Kovind's victory marked an important milestone in the political history of the country.
Her Rajasthan counterpart Vasundhara Raje, described Kovind's victory as "historic" and hoped that his tenure would be an inspiration for all.
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, who broke the ranks with the opposition and pledged JD(U) support, called up Kovind and extended his greetings and wishes to him.
Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, who had pledged his and his party BJD's support to Kovind, tweeted "Congratulate Shri Ramnath Kovind ji on being elected President of India. We look forward to work under his leadership at @RashtrapatiBhvn."
While, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee tweeted "Congratulations to Ram Nath Kovind Ji, who will be our next President."
The Assam Governor Banwarilal Purohit said Kovind has had an illustrious career and his experience as a member of Rajya Sabha would help him to carry forward the rich legacy of the Rashtrapati Bhavan
Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal in a telephonic conversation congratulated Kovind and termed the election as "good news" for the people of Assam.
Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao hoped that Kovind would be successful in continuing the federal spirit of the country's democracy.
His Andhra Pradesh counterpart N Chandrababu Naidu said "I am very happy that the candidate I proposed has been elected the President. Hailing from a lower class, Kovind rose to the highest post of the country.
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister K Palaniswami congratulated Kovind for his "resounding victory."
The Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh said the Kovind has a vast political and administrative experience.
"His election to the coveted office is the realisation of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay's political vision that people from poor family backgrounds in top constitutional offices was a sign of a mature democracy," he said.
Uttarakhand Governor K K Paul described his a veteran with a deep knowledge of the law and the Constitution.
In Haryana, Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar termed Kovind a symbol of the aspirations of the poor and the under- privilege.
Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh said Kovind is a leader connected with common people while his Jharkhand counterpart Raghubar Das extended his best wishes.
