Congress holds protest-rally in city

The Congress in West Bengal today took out a rally in the city here as part of the nationwide 'Jan Aakrosh Diwas' to protest against the central government's demonetisation decision.
"We are not against the central government's intention to curb black money and corruption; we are against the lack of decisiveness and clarity in dealing with the situation. We haven't seen such a rudder-less and indecisive government in the country," state Congress president Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury said.
In this he compared Prime Minister Narendra Modi with Muhammad bin Tughlaq, the Delhi Sultanate's infamous ruler known for his illogical and harsh policies.

Led by Chowdhury, Congress supporters organised a march from the Congress office in Bidhan Bhawan to Park Circus in central Kolkata, raising slogans against the Narendra Modi government.
"The lack of vision and immature decision have plunged the nation into total chaos, and it would continue in the days to come," Chowdhury said.
Chowdhury appealed to the Trinamool Congress government to take emergency measures for helping the common man.
"The working class people of the state are starving. We want the state government to provide them food, fuel and other necessary amenities at low cost through the public distribution system," Chowdhury said.

Chowdhury pointed out the hypocrisy of TMC's protest against demonetisation, saying "those who themselves are accused in Saradha and Narada scams can't talk big about fight against black money. Those who themselves are running a corrupt government can't talk against black money".
