The meeting at Bodhan is the first in a series of public meetings planned by the party leaders from Telangana to celebrate the acceptance of their long-pending demand.
Speaking on the occasion, state Panchayat Raj Minister K Jana Reddy said coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema regions would not face any problems with regard to sharing of resources like water, etc, post Telangana.
The two Telugu-speaking states can prosper together with a sense of harmony, he said.
Hailing the leadership of Sonia Gandhi, Deputy Chief Minister C Damodar Rajanarasimha said all Congress leaders should now work for the development of Telangana.
Senior Congress MP V Hanumantha Rao alleged it was leaders from Rayalaseema like Y S Rajasekhara Reddy who were instrumental in raising the separate Telangana demand in the past.
