Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) Secretary Sunil Kawthankar pointed out to Parrikar's reported statement which had claimed that the Goan media is involved in "paid news" rackets.
During a function on Sunday, Parrikar had alleged that some newspapers were sponsored by opposition parties and involved in "diabolic" criticism against the state government.
Kawthankar sought an apology from the chief minister today for his statements which he termed "baseless".
Kawthankar said the Goa chief minister had no right to comment about the media.
The Congress leader said Parrikar had been accusing the party (Congress) through the media but Congress never charged the media with being partisan or being involved in "paid news".
