Alleging breach of privilege, a Congress member today moved a privilege motion against a member of People's Democratic Party (PDP) for making "controversial remarks" against him in Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly.
Congress MLC Usman Majid moved a privilege motion against PDP member Noor Mohammed Sheikh for making a controversial statement in the Assembly yesterday.
Before moving the motion, Majid asked Sheikh to either take his words back or face the privilege motion.
Deputy Speaker Nazir Ahmad Khan gave the PDP leader an opportunity to take his words back, however, when Sheikh refused to take his words back, the deputy speaker accepted the motion from Majid.
The House had witnessed noisy scenes yesterday and the two leaders had almost come to blows when the PDP leader made controversial remarks against the Congress member.
