Congress candidate for Pune Lok Sabha seat Vishwajeet Kadam, who pipped controversial sitting MP Suresh Kalmadi to get the party ticket, happens to be the richest candidate in the fray with total declared assets of Rs 87.47 crore.
Vishwajeet, son of Maharashtra Minister Patangrao Kadam, who filed his nomination today, has mentioned the figure, which also includes assets owned by his wife, in his affidavit submitted to election office here.
The Congress nominee has moveable assets of Rs 9.23 crore, while his wife has Rs 37.07 crore worth of moveable wealth. Vishwajeet's immovable assets had a value of Rs 27.68 crore, while those of his wife stood at 13.49 crore, according to the affidavit.
However, Vishwajeet has no car registered in his name while his wife owns four luxury cars.
