Doctors of First Affiliated Hospital of Guangxi Medical University performed the separation of the twin girls on August 8, about two months after they were born in a hospital in their hometown of Guiping City.
The twin girls were discharged from the hospital , state run Xinhua news agency reported.
A team of 20 medical workers nearly 10 hours to separate the girls, who were joined at their livers, Yang Tiquan, chief surgeon and director of the hospital's paediatric surgery unit said.
It was the first successful separation surgery on conjoined twins in Guangxi, Yang said.
The mother of the twin girls, Yue Juxing, gave birth on June 14 in Guiping, a county-level city in southeastern Guangxi. The twins were transferred a week later to the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangxi Medical University, located in Guangxi's capital, Nanning.
Social donations of more than 100,000 yuan and medical aid from the hospital were received for the separation surgery.
