A Division Bench comprising Justice N Paul Vasanthakumar and Justice M Sathyanarayanan, in its order, said, "It is for the police authorities to consider application to be filed by V Vadivel, Propaganda Secretary of PMK, in accordance with law under section 41 of City Police Act and under the Section 144 of CrPc."
The application should be decided on merits and in accordance with law, the judges said.
Vadivel had filed an appeal against the order of a single judge bench of the High Court who dismissed a petition challenging the rejection of police authorities to conduct a public meeting in Sashtri Nagar police station limits on June 4 last year.
