A constable got injured in a scuffle between policemen and two local goons when they caught hold of their friend in north Delhi's Subzi Mandi area of North Delhi, police said today.
Around 38 home guards from Uttar Pradesh have been sent to North Delhi for the MCD polls. They arrived yesterday and were being escorted to a night shelter by two Delhi police personnel - Amit and Suresh, they said.
While they were on the way to the night shelter, Amit, saw one Anil, allegedly drinking alcohol and creating ruckus, police said.
Amit then apprehended Anil but his friends came there and attacked them.
In the scuffle, they hit Amit with a brick on his head and even tore his uniform, police said.
Anil managed to escape but his friends were nabbed, they added.
