Cop dies after container truck hits his bike

A 48-year-old police naik died after a container truck hit his two-wheeler from behind on Sion-Trombay road in suburban Chunabhatti while his wife suffered minor injuries, police said today.
The incident occurred at around 7:30 PM last night when Pratap Chauhan, attached to crime branch (unit IV), and his wife were heading to Wadala on his bike.
According to a senior official, Chauhan and his wife fell on road after the container truck hit their two-wheeler.
While Chauhan died on the spot, his wife sustained minor injuries, he said.
Police have impounded the vehicle and arrested its driver Shivcharan Singh under relevant sections of IPC.
