"S Srinivasa Rao of SPF of Andhra Pradesh state along with his group members this morning came to the Gouthami Ghat on routine daily exercise of swimming in river Godavari," Rajahmundry (Urban) East Zone DSP Sravani said.
"After the exercise, all group members returned expect Rao. He is missing," she said.
"The exact number of personnel who had gone to swim is yet to be ascertained. We have deployed search teams along with expert swimmers and divers to trace him," the officer said, adding irrigation, police and revenue officials are also assisting these teams.
