Copper prices fell by 0.19 per cent to Rs 446.15 per kg in futures trading today as participants engaged in reducing positions, tracking a weak trend in metals at the domestic spot markets.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper for delivery in November declined by 85 paise, or 0.19 per cent, to Rs 446.15 per kg, in a business turnover of 826 lots.
Similarly, the metal for delivery in February traded lower by 65 paise, or 0.14 per cent, to Rs 450.80 per kg in five lots.
Analysts said, offloading of positions by traders in sync with a weak trend due to low demand from consuming industries at the domestic spot market, mainly weighed on copper prices at futures trade.
