Copper prices fell 0.19% to Rs 333.80 per kg in futures trade today as speculators offloaded their positions amid subdued demand at the domestic spot markets.

However, a firm trend in base metals pack at the London Metal Exchange (LME) in yesterday's trade capped the losses.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper for delivery in August shed 65 paise or 0.19% to Rs 333.80 per kg in a business turnover of 1,070 lots.

The metal for delivery in November was down by 55 paise or 0.16% to Rs 340.30 per kg in 4 lots.

Analysts attributed the fall in copper futures to weak trend at the domestic markets following slackened demand from consuming industries.

Globally, copper for delivery in three months closed 0.4% higher at $4,939 per tonne at the LME in yesterday's trade.
