Copper prices strengthen on rising demand

Copper prices strengthened at the non-ferrous metals market here today following stockists' good buying amid rising demand from industrial users.

Elsewhere, brass utensils scrap and tin also gained further owing to sustained demand from consuming industries.

Brass sheet cuttings and nickel recovered due to renewed demand from alloy industries.

Nickel regained by Rs 15 per kg to Rs 990 from Tuesday's closing level of Rs 975.

Copper utensils, copper sheet cuttings and tin gained by Rs 5 per kg each to Rs 428, Rs 451 and Rs 1,405 from yesterday's closing level of Rs 423, Rs 446 and Rs 1,400, respectively.

Copper cable scrap, copper armature and copper billets rose by Rs 4 per kg each to Rs 463, Rs 454 and Rs 491 as against Rs 459, Rs 450 and Rs 487, respectively.

Copper scrap heavy moved up by Rs 3 per kg to Rs 457 from Rs 454.

Brass utensils scrap and brass sheet cuttings edged up by Rs 2 per kg each to Rs 342 and Rs 353 as compared to Rs 340 and Rs 351, respectively.
