Jim Corbett National Park was re-opened for tourists today after being closed for five months during the monsoon season.
Sameer Sinha, director of the national park, said that all the zones and ranges of the park have been re-opened.
It was closed for tourists on June 15 due to monsoon season, he said.
The park has received good response from tourists and animal lovers as online booking for the month is already complete, Sinha said.
Spread in the area of 520 square kilometers, the park was established in 1936 to protect the endangered Bengal tiger. It is primarily a tiger reserve, but there are around 600 species of birds and animals.
