Seeking to provide improved services to the stakeholders, the Corporate Affairs Ministry will soon launch the new MCA21 portal, which allows electronic filings of various documents under the Companies Act.

The portal is the key platform for companies to submit the required documents and filings. Besides, it provides public access to corporate information.

According to a government official, the software platform of MCA21 is being changed and the new portal would be available for stakeholders from March 27.

The Ministry is implementing the Companies Act.

In a notice to stakeholders, the Ministry said the new portal would be launched as part of continuous endeavor to serve them better. Various electronic forms would be revised from March 27.

MCA21 has been in place for many years and its second phase runs from January 2013 to July 2021.

The portal is designed to fully automate all processes related to enforcement and compliance of legal requirements under the Companies Act.

The launch of the new portal also comes at a time when the Ministry is working to centralise the whole process related to registering a new company and strive to complete the processing within a day.

The Central Registration Centre (CRC) to speed up services for incorporation of companies is already functional.

CRC would now carry out the processing and disposal of e-forms and all related matters pertaining to registration of companies.

Once the new system comes into effect from March 28, the works pertaining to incorporation of firms done by respective Registrar of Companies (RoCs) would be carried out by CRC.

Meanwhile, the Ministry has come out with a changed format for certificate of incorporation. In this regard, amendments have been made to the Companies (Incorporation) Rules, 2014 under the Companies Act, 2013.
