A counter FIR was registered in connection with clashes between two groups over eve teasing in Kazi Katra locality even as the situation was fast returning to normal, police said today.
All the five accused mentioned in the first FIR in the clash in Dargah Sharif police station area have been arrested while efforts were on to identify the unnammed accused, they said.
"A man named Ilyas today lodged the counter FIR against nine persons including five named of whom three were seriously injured in the brick batting and referred to Lucknow for treatment," Superintendent of Police Salik Ram Verma said.
"They have been charged with beating and brick batting. Police is looking into the FIRs lodged by both the sides," he added.
Verma said that normalcy has been restored in town but additional force has been deployed as a precautionary measure.
"Patrolling was intensified last night at all sensitive places and people staying in hotels and lodges were also checked," said Verma.
On Sunday night, two groups clashed after one of the factions objected to teasing of some girls by the other group.
Later, about 50-60 supporters of one of the groups gathered and indulged in brickbatting, leading to injuries to three youths.
An FIR was then lodged against five named persons and 60 others.
