The house was raided early yesterday by a special team of 'Q' branch police from Coimbatore on a tip off.
The gun and four bullets were found in a gunny bag in a thatched shed of the brick kiln, police said.
The owner on being questioned claimed that the gun was for hunting deer and rabbits in the nearby forest.
The gun was seized and the man was arrested, police said.
