A 29-year-old man, working with Nuclear Fuel Complex (NFC), allegedly committed suicide along with his wife by hanging themselves at their quarters in DAE colony, police said today.
Diwakar, working as a Technician in 'D' category at NFC and his wife Himani Devi (27) were found hanging by the ceiling fan of their house by neighbours and others this morning, Kushaiguda Police Station Inspector N Venkata Ramana said.
As per preliminary investigations, the couple resorted to the extreme step due to family dispute, the Inspector said, adding around 4 days ago their relatives had asked the couple not to quarrel, though, they again fought yesterday even as Diwakar allegedly slapped her.
Diwakar hails from Dehradun, while Himani belongs to Himachal Pradesh and they had got married in February this year, the police officer said.
"As per the scene, it clearly indicates that one of them attempted suicide while another tried to stop it, before both of them committed suicide," Ramana said.
Police also found one acid bottle, a knife lying near the bodies besides the cooking gas cylinder's regulator opened at the house.
The neighbours found milk packets not lifted in front of the door of the couple's house and got suspicious, following which they informed the local security personnel, who from the window saw the couple hanging. They immediately informed the matter to police, the Inspector said.
No suicide note was found from the house. A case was booked and further investigations were on, he said.
