Ramveer (30) and his wife Laxmi Devi were returning on a cycle from a visit to the doctor yesterday when they were hit by the tanker. While Ramveer was killed on the spot his wife died during treatment, police added.
Agitated by the incident, locals blocked the Sadabad-Agra road and even damaged some vehicles as they demanded compensation for the kin of the victims.
The blockade was lifted after officials assured the protesters that they would look into the demand.
