A local court today ordered Ayodhya police to register a criminal case against the chief priest of famous HanumanGarhi temple of Ayodhya Mahant Ramesh Das and president of All India Akhara Parishad Mahant Gyan Das and their aides for allegedly running an illegal parking slot.
The Mahants have been accused of running an illegal parking stand in a government-aided Sanskrit college adjacent to HanumanGarhi temple in security zone of Ayodhya near the disputed site of Ramjanambhoomi and Babri Masjid.
Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Rashmi Singh on Tuesday ordered the station house officer of Ram Janambhoomi police station to register the case against the Mahants of HanumanGarhi temple and also summoned the SHO to appear before the court with the copy of FIR.
The complainant in this case Mahendra Tripathi has charged the Mahants with cheating, extortion and evasion of income tax and trade tax through the illegal parking slot and termed the slot a threat for the security of Ram Janambhoomi and other prominent temples of Ayodhya.
