A court here today ordered an inquiry into an incident at the Vadodara railway station where a man died in a commotion caused by the arrival of actor Shah Rukh Khan during the promotion of his film "Raees".
Judicial magistrate Priyanka Lal ordered Deputy Superintendent of Police (Railways) Tarun Barot to conduct the inquiry and submit a report within 45 days.
A man named Jitendra Solanki had moved the court seeking a direction to the police to register an FIR against Shah Rukh for 'culpable homicide not amounting to murder' under the IPC.
The permission given to the actor to promote his film by travelling in a train was illegal, and Western Railways' Divisional Railway Manager too should be named in the FIR, he said.
Shah Rukh was travelling from Mumbai to Delhi on August Kranti Express to promote "Raees". As the train arrived in Vadodara station on January 23, hundreds of people rushed to catch a glimpse of the star.
Vadodara resident Fahreed Khan Pathan died after suffering a heart attack on the platform during the commotion.
