A district court today took cognisance of a case of violation of the Model Code of Conduct allegedly by Bihar's Agriculture Minister Prem Kumar during the 2010 assembly elections.
Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Ramanand Ram took note of a matter against Kumar.
It was alleged that Kumar had used more than the prescribed limit of vehicles for canvassing during the 2010 elections.
If found guilty, a fine extending up to Rs 500 might be imposed on Kumar.
Washi Ahmad, the complainant, had lodged an FIR with the Civil Lines Police Station against Kumar. Ahmad was the expenditure officer during the elections at that time.
