Court to frame charges against ex-min Prajapati on Aug 18

Chief Judicial Magistrate Sandhya Srivastava today fixed August 18 as the date for framing of charges against ex-minister Gayatri Prasad Prajapati for allegedly trying to frame IPS officer Amitabh Thakur and his wife in a rape case.
The crime branch had filed a charge sheet against Prajapati in the case on July 24.
The court had summoned the investigating officer today.
In his presence, the court altered the offences against Gayatri from sections 420, 467, 468, 471 and 203 of IPC to sections 211 and 120 B of IPC and then sent Prajapati judicial custody with regard to the altered sections.

Earlier, IPS officer Thakur, Nutan, had complained about false framing of herself and her husband. The police had presented a closure report in the matter.
However, the closure report was rejected by the CJM and further investigation was ordered.
The FIR in the matter was lodged by Nutan Thakur with the Gomtinagar police station against Prajapati and others.
