Cox & Kings bets on soccer frenzy

With the rising popularity of soccer among youngsters and corporates taking interest in the game in a big way, travel major Cox & Kings has tied up with Liverpool FC-ELITES to market special student travel plan in the country that blends English language and football.
The new travel plan enables youngsters aged between 11 and 17 years to learn football with the coaches of Liverpool FC and includes English language tuition.
"The Football passion has struck India and is rapidly growing as people are increasingly following the game and ardently supporting their favourite teams. Now that football will witness IPL type game and corporates getting involved, this sport will gain support," Cox & Kings VP Ravi Menon said here today.
Each full programme is for two weeks and costs approximately Rs 1.20 lakh per week. The programme can last upto eight weeks.
Menon said they are the sole partner to support this programme in India and he hoped that some 200 students will join this programee that begins around June this year.
Liverpool FC ELITES is a joint venture between popular English Premier League club Liverpool FC and London School of Business and Finance which was formed about a year ago.
Incidentally, Cox & Kings has also been awarded the exclusive rights to promote hospitality packages for FIFA World Cup 2014, which will take place in Brazil from June 12 to July 13, 2014.
