The CPI today asked Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy to respect "morality" in political life and step down from his post "forthwith" after a local court ordered registration of FIR against him in connection with Solar scam.
"The court has directed to file FIR against Chandy. With this, credibility of his government has gone down. So, he must resign forthwith. Chandy must respect morality in political life," CPI national secretary D Raja said.
In a major embarrassment to Congress-led UDF government in Kerala, the Thrissur vigilance court today ordered registration of an FIR against Chandy and state Power Minister Arayadan Mohammed, in connection with the scam.
