"This is the blatant violation of the ceasefire agreement. It has happened at a time when India and Pakistan governments were preparing to take steps for resumption of comprehensive dialogue between them," the CPI National Executive said in a statement here.
The incident, it said, was "a repetition" of the beheading of an Indian soldier in January when "jingoists on both sides of the border sabotaged the attempts for resumption of dialogue".
Observing that Pakistan recently had a peaceful democratic election and the new Prime Minister was making positive statements on normalisation of Indo-Pak relations, the CPI said the killings would "provide another opportunity to the jingoists to spoil all attempts for reconciliation".
The party asked the people not to fall prey to such provocation and urged the government to take "a comprehensive approach to the problem keeping in view the tussle within Pakistan between the democratic forces and Pakistani army".
Meanwhile, the CPI National Executive began a two-day meet here to discuss the political situation in the country.
The top leaders of the party would chalk out a strategy for assembly polls in four states later this year and the 2014 Lok Sabha elections. The situation in Kerala following the crisis in ruling UDF over the solar scam, would also come up for discussion.
