CPI for continuation of Indo-Pak dialogue

CPI today demanded Centre to ensure continuation of dialogue with Pakistan as it is in the interest of both countries and urged Islamabad to remain committed to peace talks by not violating ceasefire.
Why Centre is making separatist Hurriyat leaders a crucial factor in deciding India-Pakistan relationship, the CPI asked and insisted on "meaningful talks" as agreed to in Ufa in Russia.
"Why should Hurriyat be made a crucial deciding factor in India-Pakistan relationship? There have been ups and downs in the relationship, but both the countries have agreed to engage in meaningful dialogues.
"And had agreed to carry forward the dialogue process in Ufa. If talks are called off, what will be the big gain for India and Pakistan?" asked CPI national secretary D Raja.

The Rajya Sabha member added there are issues which must be solved through bilateral talks and appealed to Pakistan to restrain its army from resorting to provocative action along border by violating ceasefire.
"It should also take steps to contain terror groups operating from its land," Raja said.
India today made it clear to Pakistan that it should not go ahead with the meeting of its NSA Sartaz Aziz with Hurriyat representatives when he comes to hold talks with his Indian counterpart Ajit Doval in Delhi, saying it will not be "appropriate".
