CPI-M today accused the state government of not initiating action to take back land alloted to Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) and not recovering dues from HPCA for providing security during IPL matches played at Dharamsala.
Alleging that there is a nexus between BJP and Congress over land alloted to HPCA in Dharmsala for the cricket stadium, the CPI-M said Congress has forgotten its earlier statements that HPCA was actually the youth wing of BJP and hunting ground for corporates to dump their black money.
After election, Congress is now maintaining complete silence and though both BJP and Congress are speaking in different languages, they are appeasing each other, the party said in a statement.
"The government must ensure that more than Rs 2 crore due from HPCA for providing security, be recovered and security for ensuing IPL matches be charged in advance," CPI-M said.
The party called upon the state's youth to expose commercial ventures in the name of cricket and said, though HPCA is an organisation with surplus funds, yet it is charging a fee of Rs 5,000 per player for training.
