"In call upon the leadership of India and Pakistan to put an end to border skirmishes and resume consultations at the highest level," CPI(M) state secretary Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami said here today.

Tarigami reiterated his call for an end to exchange of fire on the border in the interests of entire region.

"It must be appreciated that the two neighbouring countries largely observed ceasefire along the LoC in the last ten years and had taken steps to normalise relations. But the fresh violent incidents on the border have saddened one and all," Tarigami said.
