The CPI(M) today demonstrated here demanding a CBI investigation into the mining scam in Odisha following the Shah Commission report.
"The government should hand over inquiry into the mining scam to CBI as the Shah Commission has recommended such a probe," said party's senior leader and state secretariat member Ali Kishor Patnaik here.
The Left party also asked the government to collect Rs 60,000-crore allegedly looted by miners from the state as detected by the Commission and utilise the money for development work in cyclone Phailin-affected areas.
