"CPI-M MP and Polit Bureau member Sitaram Yechury will strongly raise their sufferings on account of flood relief and rehabilitation in coming session of Parliament and also with state government in Srinagar," a party spokesman said.
Yechury today visited areas affected by floods and heavy rains in Jammu region. He toured Beli Charana area here on the banks of Tawi river and also visited villages in Pancheri block of Udhampur district, the spokesman said.
The Rajya Sabha member went to village Sadal where 17 bodies were still buried in mud and slush.
He demanded that the Centre should declare the problem as national disaster so that sufferers could get adequate assistance.
