The CPI(M) will not take part in the proposed mega anti-BJP rally to be organised by the Trinamool Congress at Brigade Parade Ground in Kolkata on January 19.
Left Front Chairman, Biman Bose on Monday told reporters at Tarapith that it would not join the meet even if the TMC invites them.
"There is no question of attending the meet. How can we attend a programme called by those who we want to defeat?" he said.
Bose also said that the "anti-BJP alliance" is not possible with a party that maintains "secret understanding" with the BJP.
The Left Front organised a harmony rally at Tarapith on Monday to oppose the proposed 'save democracy yatra' (rath yatra) of the BJP, which had to be postponed following a Calcutta High Court ruling.
