The department has recovered the goods and services tax (GST) to the tune of Rs 5.1 crore in Jammu region, the CTD official added.
"As many as 1,691 dealers were surveyed in Jammu region and notices were issued under the relevant provisions of law in 192 cases for liability under the GST," the official said.
As a consequence of survey and sensitisation, 1,253 dealers have been registered on GSTN portal, he said.
Commercial Taxes Department, Jammu, has launched a comprehensive drive to conduct surveys and sensitise the dealers liable to pay taxes under the GST legislation applicable in the state of J&K, he said.
