The app--Indian Customs-Guide to Travellers-- has been developed by IRS officer Sandeep Kumar Rawal, now posted as Joint Director, Regional Training Institute of National Academy of Customs Excise and Narcotics (NACEN), Bhopal in coordination with Bengaluru customs.
It is a first-of-its-kind mobile application in the world which contains a ready reckoner of the customs baggage rules and entitlement of passengers coming from various countries.
The application provides information to users as per their need. After installation of app on smart phones, it works in offline mode.
It was launched today by Ananya Ray, Member (Computerisation), at a function organised by Central Board of Excise and Customs on the occasion of World Customs Day.
