The officials of the air intelligence unit, intercepted Mohamed Jubair, bound for Colombo, on a tip off that he was carrying "some contraband" yesterday.
On being searched, the officials seized three cylindrical shaped packets concealed in his underwear. The powder inside the packet was found to be "heroin", a release said.
"The powder in the packets weighed 111 grams, valued at Rs 11 lakh," it said, adding that the passenger was arrested under the provisions of the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985.
Similarly, today, 30 gold rods weighing 145 grams, valued at Rs 4.28 lakh, was seized from Mohammed Ibrahim who arrived here from Colombo, it said.
"Further investigation was on", the release added.
