Security agencies are seeking the help of cyber experts to find out the source of the video which was widely circulated through mobile phones and incited people during the communal violence in Muzaffarnagar.
Official sources said the controversial video, which was actually shot either in Pakistan or Afghanistan and showed a brutal attack, was circulated by saying that the incident has happened in Muzaffarnagar.
The two-year old video was downloaded from 'Youtube' and circulated widely in Muzaffarnagar and its adjoining areas and allegedly incited people who indulged in riots.
Sources said cyber experts were contacted by security agencies and the video is being examined. They were trying to find out the source of circulation.
There have been reports that the CD which allegedly incited tension in the area is still in circulation. Police has issued an appeal to the people not to pay heed to it besides giving an advertisement in this regard.
The Uttar Pradesh government has also announced a cash reward of Rs one lakh to anyone providing clue to the exact source of the CD/clipping.
