The incident took place last night when the gang raided the camp-site of 14 families of brick kiln workers in Bhatiyana village of Hafizpur area and looted them of their belongings, police said.
Three of the dacoits forcefully took the wife of a labourer, who was away for Kawariya pilgrimage, to a nearby field and gangraped her at gun-point, Hafizpur Police station in-charge Avnish Kumar said.
Hearing the commotion from the camp-site, the kiln owner reached the spot following which the dacoits fled.
The kiln owner lodged a complaint with the police, who have registered a case against the unidentified persons for loot. However, a case of gang rape has not been filed by the police yet.
The woman has been sent for medical examination and further investigation is on in the case, Kumar said.
