After approving bonanza of Assured Career Promotion Scheme (ACPS) and other incentves to employees yesterday, Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal today said that the period for regularisation of daily wagers would come down from eight years to seven years in the poll-bound state.

Addressing a rally, the chief minister said that the government was actively considering regularisation of daily wagers after seven years.

The BJP leader, who is due to face assembly elections later this year, assured that the stagnation in different cadres in various state departments would be removed by creation of more promotional avenues and committees would be constituted to resolve other demands of categories of part time, daily wage and contractual functionaries in the state.

He said that cutting and tailoring teachers would be given preference in fresh recruitments to the posts of panchayat secretaries and Aanganwari workers and one more opportunity would be provided to class IV employees promoted as clerks in different department to qualify the typing test.

A separate committee would be constituted to formulate a policy for protecting interests of computer teachers and the salaries of Primary Assistant Teachers (PAT) would be enhanced from Rs 5,000 to Rs 6,500 and efforts would also be made to disburse salary of PAT along with other regular teachers, he added.
