As a part of the statewide protest called by the Bar Council of Punjab and Haryana High Court and Bar Association Faridabad, the strike was observed here demanding release of the two lawyers - Jagat Singh and Adal Singh.
The General House meeting of District Bar Association held here today under the chairmanship of J S Malhi, president of the association, who condemned the arrest of the two lawyers on Wednesday.
Notably, unidentified persons had allegedly set on fire the house of Jitender, a Dalit, at Sunped village in Faridabad district on October 20, resulting in the death of his two minor children and burn injuries to him as well as his wife.
The CBI took over the investigation into the case on October 30 after Haryana Government decided to hand over it to the premier investigating agency.
