Dalit man held for objectionable remarks against upper caste

A former Dalit headman has been arrested for allegedly making objectionable remarks against an upper caste community at Kheri Sarai village here, police said today.
Dharmender was arrested from Puranpur Police Station area yesterday, said Circle Officer S K S Partap.
A purported video of him making objectionable remarks against the community went viral on social media, after which a complaint was filed against him, he said.
Last month, neighbouring Saharanpur district had witnessed bouts of inter-caste clashes between Dalits and Thakurs.
